Why The Red Bus Nursery Foundation?
The economic situation in Ethiopia is becoming more stable for those families in the cities. However, in surrounding rural areas, the development is far slower. For these specific children and families, the Red Bus Nursery Foundation will assist their childhood development with a view to a more promising future.
Money raised for the Foundation will provide resources to support their library, and play equipment for a planned playground to develop their motor skills, language skills and coordination whilst at the same time having fun through play.
A message from the Founders...
Following a personal visit with our family in April 2014, we were able to see for ourselves, the needs of the schools in the rural areas. Children and staff are lacking the necessary basic equipment needed to be successful in the school day.
The Red Bus Nursery Foundation donated books, crayons, jigsaws and games for the children to enjoy. The children received them gratefully with huge smiles on their faces.
The Headteacher was overjoyed and knew the children would benefit and learn through the gifts received.
He added creativity was something for the whole school to work on together and that he promoted using varied stimuli in the school to encourage children to learn.
The Red Bus Nursery Foundation plans to hold events to raise the awareness of disadvantaged children in schools in rural areas of developing countries to benefit as many children as possible.
